  1. SDMS Headquarters Holiday Schedule

  3. 2002 Annual Giving - SDMS Educational Foundation

Each year the Educational Foundation conducts a number of fundraising events to raise money to fund next year's programs. We are very happy to report that for the sixth consecutive year, SDMS members have stepped up to the plate and responded with increased annual donations. Thus far in 2002, we have received contributions totaling over $15,000!

One hundred percent (100%) of the money from the 2002 donations will be used in 2003 to provide scholarships to sonography students attending CAAHEP accredited programs in the US and CMA approved programs in Canada. We often get letters from students telling us that their scholarship was just what was needed to provide the extra financial help they needed to complete their program. Unfortunately, for every scholarship awarded, another is rejected because of lack of funds. In 2003, the Foundation would like to double the number of students who receive scholarships! Sonography faces severe manpower shortages now. Why should the lack of financial assistance play a role in those shortages?

Please take a moment now to send in your donation to the SDMS Educational Foundation. Foundation programs are funded entirely through your contributions and every dollar is used for the sonography community.   4. ARDMS Registered Sonographer Career Path

In our continuing effort to assist prospective students with information about careers in sonography, the SDMS has released a document entitled, ARDMS Registered Sonographer Career Path. The document shows a potential career path including life-long learning and active membership in the SDMS. It also provides links to online resources that may be useful as they plan their career.

Please refer prospective students, career/guidance counselors, and educators to this helpful information.

Do you have the 1993 Sonography Awareness Poster? Our gallery of past celebrations (http://www.sdms.org/resources/sonomonth/posters.asp) is incomplete because we are missing the 1993 poster.
