Formed in 2009, the SDMS Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization affiliated with the SDMS. The SDMS Foundation fosters professional learning and excellence by working to improve the field of diagnostic medical sonography.

The Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) is a professional membership organization founded in 1970 to promote, advance, and educate its members and the medical community in the science of diagnostic medical sonography. The SDMS, with over 28,000 members, is the largest association of sonographers and sonography students in the world.

SDMS Membership is available to all individuals practicing or interested in the field of diagnostic medical sonography.
Join the SDMS
Any individual practicing or interested in the field of diagnostic medical sonography
Any individual age 60 or older who would like to remain engaged with the field of sonography
Any student enrolled in a sonography or other healthcare-related educational program
SDMS Student members renewing for their first year following graduation
All individual SDMS member benefits and free lifetime SDMS member dues
Organizational Membership is available to any for-profit or non-profit entity (e.g., corporation, limited liability company, partnership, etc.), but is not available to an individual. Organizational Members do not hold the right to nominate or vote, be elevated to SDMS Fellow, or to run for elected office.
