FOCUS on the Future
PLANO, TEXAS - Beginning April 1, 2006, the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) will no longer offer continuing medical education through the Accreditation Council of Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). Instead, SDMS will continue to focus on its status as a recognized continuing medical education provider for the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). SDMS has long had an established presence in the sonography community of providing a high quality review, evaluation and CME award process. The SDMS process is focused on the needs of its constituents - sonographers, whereas the ACCME program is designed for awarding continuing education credit to physicians.
FOCUS on the Future is SDMS' commitment to continued quality, improvement, and expansion of its already impressive continuing education process.
About SDMS
The Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS; www.sdms.org) is a national professional organization representing more than 18,000 sonographers and other health care providers involved in the use of diagnostic medical sonography. Its goal is to promote, advance, and educate its members and the medical community in the science of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
