The SDMS is the largest association of sonographers and sonography students in the world.
This spring, I had the pleasure of doing a walkthrough of the Gaylord Hotel in National Harbor, Maryland directly outside of Washington DC. The location of our 2019 SDMS Annual Conference, it is a beautiful property on the bay surrounded by enticing restaurants with shopping nearby. However, what impacted me the most was anticipating the halls and conference rooms filled with sonographers from around the world! A truly unique conference designed by sonographers for sonographers, the SDMS Annual Conference offers up to 26 CME credits in four days!
Imagine four days immersed in sonography!
From clinical sonographers, to educators and physicians, we have designed the 2019 course offerings to truly meet the needs of the sonography community. With over 60 exhibitors focused specifically on diagnostic sonography, the experience of our exhibit hall is unforgettable. From educational resources to professional opportunities, the exhibit hall showcases the newest technology and enables us to embrace our desire to “get our hands on the transducer and scan!” We have also organized over 13 networking opportunities to bring the sonography community together.
If you have never attended an SDMS Annual Conference, I personally invite you to experience a conference created with you, a sonographer, specifically in mind. We have organized each detail to maximize your personal conference experience. Many years ago as a first-time attendee, I remember being apprehensive about committing to attend. I specifically remember walking into that first presentation unsure of what would transpire. I quickly realized that I was surrounded not only by other sonographers, like myself, but also many of the luminaries of our profession all who were more than willing to share their experiences and knowledge.
If you’ve attended in the past, this will be one for the record books! We’ve embraced Washington DC’s ambiance and will close out Saturday night overlooking the bay while celebrating the museums of the city with a “Night at the Museums” party. I anticipate the costumes will be the most varied of any that we’ve ever experienced!
Registration is now open for the 2019 SDMS Annual Conference. On behalf of the SDMS Board, we look forward to seeing you in National Harbor!
