SDMS Provides Free Educational Content to Sonography Programs Moving Online

Plano, Texas
– In response to the challenges faced by sonography educational programs in moving their programs online because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) is pleased to announce that it is giving the sonography community complimentary access to over 100 SDMS Registry Review Series videos through December 31, 2020.

Don Kerns, JD, CAE, the Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director of the SDMS and the SDMS Foundation stated, “Our goal is to help reduce the burden on sonography educators to create online content for their students. With more than 107 hours of video content in the SDMS Registry Review Series, sonography educators may supplement their existing material while guaranteeing a robust educational experience for their students.”

Videos are available in these areas:

  • Abdominal Sonography, including Superficial Structures
  • Adult Cardiac Sonography
  • Breast Sonography
  • Fetal Cardiac Sonography
  • Obstetric and Gynecologic Sonography
  • Pediatric Cardiac Sonography
  • Pediatric Sonography*
  • Sonography Principles and Instrumentation
  • Vascular Sonography/Technology

*Limited availability - more videos are under development and will be added as they become available

Sonography educational programs may provide the course link directly to their students or incorporate the course link into their learning management system. Additionally, through the end of 2020, recent graduates and certified sonographers may use the SDMS Registry Review Series videos free of charge to study for any sonography certification exam.

While neither SDMS membership nor purchase of the associated SDMS Registry Review Series books is required to access the videos, no SDMS CME credit is available for completion of the videos through this special program.
