Formed in 2009, the SDMS Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization affiliated with the SDMS. The SDMS Foundation fosters professional learning and excellence by working to improve the field of diagnostic medical sonography.

The Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) is a professional membership organization founded in 1970 to promote, advance, and educate its members and the medical community in the science of diagnostic medical sonography. The SDMS is the largest association of sonographers and sonography students in the world.

In 2021, the SDMS is committed to providing you with the resources that you need to succeed as a sonographer. One of the ways that we are doing this is through a robust schedule of educational offerings designed to meet your needs. Based on your enthusiastic feedback about our 2020 virtual events, we are pleased to offer a SDMS Virtual Conference in spring 2021 as well as continuing our popular SDMS Knowledge Series, SDMS Virtual Seminars and SDMS CME Crunch Week. The SDMS also looks forward to hosting the 2021 SDMS Annual Conference, October 14 – 16 at the Gaylord Rockies in Denver, Colorado. The SDMS staff is closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and will follow recommendations from the CDC and the WHO as well as state and local regulations governing the ability to hold or host events such as the 2021 SDMS Annual Conference.
