Congratulations to Emily Scott! She is one of the 2020 - 2021 recipients of the SDMS Foundation Sonography Student Scholarship.
Emily is currently enrolled in the diagnostic medical sonography program at Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Emily became interested in sonography through her father, a retired oncologist, who worked closely with sonographers to diagnose and treat breast cancer patients. She is pursuing a career in sonography so that she can become a crucial member of the healthcare system and help patients with this powerful diagnostic tool. As a constantly evolving profession, sonography will also satisfy Emily’s desire for a career that requires life-long learning.
Her dedication to academic merit is evident as she has made the Dean’s list several times and has earned many other scholarships. Emily is committed to working hard to become a competent sonographer and to become an asset to the ultrasound community through her education and training.
Best wishes to Emily from the SDMS Foundation.
