Advanced Degree Scholarships | $2,500
Sonographers may apply for this annual scholarship if they are enrolled in an advanced (bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral) degree program in sonography or a related field. At least two years of full-time sonography experience is required.

Student Scholarships | $2,500
SDMS student members may be considered for one of two annual student scholarships for educational expenses when they are enrolled in a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational Programs (CAAHEP).

Educational Grants | $300/$600
Sonography students, sonographers, and educators are invited to apply for a grant to help with the cost of attending the SDMS Annual Conference.

Certification Examination Grants | $250
The SDMS Foundation Certification Examination Grant Program provides grants to deserving sonography students and sonographers who wish to further their career by earning additional certifications or specialties. Approved applicants receive a check for $250 following proof of successful exam completion.

International Assistance Grants | Up to $1,000
SDMS members working internationally in sonography can apply for reimbursement of travel and/or work costs.

Hardship Grants | $175
An SDMS member may receive this grant once every five years to assist with financial hardships that may involve temporary disability, unemployment, or experience of natural disasters. Funds may be used to renew SDMS membership.

Research Grants | $2,500 to $5,000
A grant and an opportunity to submit original research to the Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography are awarded up to four times each year.

Evans Undergraduate Research Grant | $1,000
Undergraduate students enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in sonography or a related field are invited to submit a sonography-related research topic. Up to one grant recipient will be chosen each year.

Emerging Leaders Program
The Emerging Leaders Program selects a cohort of students and recent graduates for accelerated mentoring and leadership education. One outstanding cohort member is selected to receive a grant to attend the SDMS Annual Conference.
