Kathryn (Kate) M. Wampler, MA, RT(R), RDMS, RVT, is an Assistant Professor and Clinical Education Coordinator for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). Kate has more than 20 years of experience in sonography and education. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging from UNMC and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

Kate is an active SDMS volunteer and is the Co-Board Liaison to the SDMS Events Management Committee. Her previous roles include service on the SDMS Events Management Committee, SDMS Nominating Committee, CME reviewer, micro-volunteer, and presenter at annual conferences and virtual events. She is a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JDMS). Kate has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and received the Kenneth R. Gottesfeld Award in 2021 for outstanding research in the JDMS. Kate is the 2025 recipient of the SDMS Distinguished Educator Award, and also serves as an item writer and reviewer for the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
