SDMS Foundation Board Policy: Non-Discrimination
The SDMS Foundation is committed to providing opportunities for all within the diagnostic medical sonography profession, its programs, and its leadership, volunteers, and staff. The SDMS Foundation Board of Directors recognizes that the success of the SDMS Foundation’s mission depends on SDMS members, leaders, volunteers, and staff who bring a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, ideas, and perspectives.
The SDMS Foundation is also committed to ensuring opportunities for all to participate in its programs, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws. Participation decisions are based on professional qualifications and experience and are made without unlawful discrimination.
In addition, the SDMS Foundation encourages SDMS members, the sonography profession, and the broader medical community to support efforts that:
- Reinforce sonographers’ dedication to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to all individuals; and
- Maintain the profession’s focus on the well-being of all patients and the highest standards of medical imaging excellence.

Note: This policy shall apply to all SDMS Foundation policies, procedures, programs, and services regardless of whether explicitly referenced. This policy also applies to all SDMS Foundation volunteers and staff.
