SDMS CME Weekend is a travel-free, online-only learning experience that enables sonographers, sonography students, and physicians from around the world to network and learn. In addition to earning SDMS CME credits, the educational program provides attendees with knowledge and skills in new sonographic techniques, diagnostic accuracy, enhancements of sonographic instrumentation, and practice management strategies.

SDMS CME Credit
You can earn up to 10 SDMS CME credits by participating in SDMS CME Weekend (breakdown below). Speaker introductions and the breaks between sessions do not count for SDMS CME credits.
Credit Breakdown by Day
- Saturday, April 18: Earn up to 5 SDMS CME Credits
- Sunday, April 19: Earn up to 5 SDMS CME Credits
In order to receive SDMS CME credit, you must attend the event as it is being live streamed. SDMS CME credit will be issued for each session attended in full. Partial credit will not be awarded for sessions not attended in their entirety. The SDMS CME credits that you will earn for participating in SDMS CME Weekend will appear on your SDMS CME Transcript within three weeks.
Am I required to attend both days?
No. Registration includes access to sessions on both Saturday and Sunday, but you are not required to attend both days. You're welcome to attend only the sessions that fit your schedule.
Recordings and Materials
SDMS will provide access to session recordings via email within three weeks following the event. Registrants will have 90 days from the date the SDMS recording email is sent to view the recording. Please note that SDMS CME credit cannot be earned by watching a recording; CME credit is only available to those who attend the sessions live.
Virtual Event Policies
The SDMS Virtual Event Policies are listed below. Attendees will be asked to review and acknowledge these policies during the registration process.
CONDUCT (1.2)
This policy outlines the appropriate conduct that is expected of attendees, partners, sponsors, and other virtual event participants while participating in an SDMS Virtual Event.
Attendees/Vendors/Partners/Sponsors
Attendees, partners, sponsors, and other virtual event participants are expected to conduct themselves appropriately at all times. Any action that interferes with, disrupts, impairs, creates an undue burden, or is deemed inappropriate or disruptive by the SDMS is subject to disciplinary action, up to and including the removal of the attendee, vendor, partner, or sponsor from the Virtual Event and termination of any related privileges of the attendee, vendor, partner, or sponsor at future virtual events. No refunds will be provided under such circumstances.
Inappropriate/Disruptive Actions

Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form: The SDMS is committed to fostering a welcoming, respectful, and supportive environment within the diagnostic medical sonography profession. The SDMS expects all attendees, partners, sponsors, and other virtual event participants to foster an environment where all individuals feel valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.
- Disruption of the presentations during sessions: All participants must conform with the instructions of the speakers, moderator, and/or SDMS staff members.
- Misuse of audience participation time: During sessions with open discussion or audience Q&A, participants are expected to engage in a respectful and concise manner. Comments and questions should be relevant to the topic at hand and directed through the appropriate moderator, speaker, or facilitator. Speakers, moderators, or SDMS staff reserve the right to redirect, limit, or end participant contributions that are off-topic, monopolize the conversation, or disrupt the flow and intent of the session.
- Unapproved postings and messages: Postings and messages that contain promotional materials, special offers, job offers, product announcements, or solicitation of services must be pre-approved by the SDMS in advance.
CANCELLATION & REFUND (1.3)
Cancellation without access to post recordings:
- Notice of cancellation 48 or more hours prior to start of the virtual event: 100% refund.
- Notice of cancellation after 48 hours prior to start of the virtual event: 50% refund.
- Notice of cancellation or refund requests after start of the virtual event: non-refundable.
All cancellations must be in writing and sent to events@sdms.org.
SCREEN CAPTURE (1.4)
Attendees
Recording video, audio, or screen capturing/taking photos (including the use of smartphones and other mobile devices), is prohibited for all SDMS virtual events.
Screen Capture Release
The SDMS reserves the right to screen capture any virtual event sponsored by the SDMS, without the express written permission of those included within the screen capture.
SESSION RECORDINGS (1.5)
Recordings
Virtual event session recordings will be distributed upon conclusion of a virtual event to all paid registrants for a duration of 90-days. Registrants cannot earn SDMS CME credit for reviewing a recording; SDMS CME credit can only be earned at the time the session is being live streamed.
Copyright
Virtual event session recordings are copyrighted by the SDMS, and registrants are prohibited from sharing and utilizing the recorded content received from any SDMS virtual event.

SDMS CME CREDIT VERIFICATION (1.9)
Registrants have 90 days from the date the SDMS credit notification email is sent to verify attendance and CME credits. It is the registrant’s responsibility to verify that attendance and credits have been recorded accurately by reviewing the SDMS CME Transcript. If credits are not reflected in the transcript, the registrant must contact SDMS within the 90-day verification period at learning@sdms.org. Requests submitted after the 90-day verification period may not be eligible for CME credit.
