Event Details

Held in the spring, the SDMS Virtual Conference is a travel-free, online-only learning experience that enables sonographers, sonography students, and physicians from around the world to network and learn. In addition to earning SDMS CME credits, the educational program provides attendees with knowledge and skills in new sonographic techniques, diagnostic accuracy, enhancements of sonographic instrumentation, and practice management strategies.

SDMS CME Credit
You can earn up to 12 SDMS CME credits by participating in the 202​4 SDMS Virtual Conference (breakdown below). Speaker introductions and the breaks between sessions do not count for SDMS CME credits.

Credit Breakdown by Day
  • Friday, April 19:    Up to 4 SDMS CME Credits
  • Saturday, April ​20:    Up to 4 SDMS CME Credits
  • Sunday, ​April 21:    Up to 4 SDMS CME Credits
In order to receive SDMS CME credit, you must attend the event as it is being live streamed. SDMS CME credit will be issued for each session attended in full. Partial credit will not be awarded for sessions not attended in their entirety. The SDMS CME credits that you will earn for participating in the 202​4 SDMS Virtual Conference will appear on your SDMS CME Transcript within three weeks.

Am I required to attend all three days?

No, you can attend the sessions that work with your schedule. 

Recordings and Materials

The SDMS will provide you with a recording of the conference sessions via email within three weeks. Note: In order to receive SDMS CME credit, you must attend the event as it is being live streamed.

 

Virtual Event Policies

The SDMS Virtual Event Policies are listed below. Attendees will be asked to review and acknowledge these policies during the registration process.

APPROPRIATE CONDUCT POLICY (1.2)

Attendees, vendors, and sponsors are expected to demonstrate appropriate conduct at all times. Any action that interferes with, disrupts, impairs, creates an undue burden, or is deemed inappropriate or disruptive by the SDMS is subject to disciplinary action, up to and including the removal of the attendee, vendor, or sponsor from the Virtual Event and termination of any related privileges of the attendee, vendor, or sponsor at future virtual events.

Inappropriate/Disruptive Actions

  • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form. The SDMS is committed to promoting and implementing ongoing improvements to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the diagnostic medical sonography profession (SDMS Board Policy: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion [B.5.1]). The SDMS encourages all attendees, sponsors, and other conference participants to support efforts to ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion in the sonography profession.
  • Disruption of the presentations during sessions. All participants must conform with the instructions of the speakers, moderator, and/or SDMS staff member.
  • Postings and messages containing promotional materials, special offers, job offers, product announcements, or solicitation of services unless pre-approved by the SDMS in advance.
CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY (1.3)

Cancellation without Access to Post Recordings:

  • Notice of cancellation 48 or more hours prior to start of the virtual event: 100% refund.
  • Notice of cancellation after 48 hours prior to start of the virtual event: 50% refund.
  • Notice of cancellation after start of the virtual event: non-refundable.
All cancellations must be in writing and sent to events@sdms.org.

SCREEN CAPTURE (1.4)

Attendees
Recording video, audio, or screen capturing/taking photos (including the use of smartphones and other mobile devices), is prohibited for all SDMS virtual events.

Screen Capture Release
The SDMS reserves the right to screen capture any virtual event sponsored by the SDMS, without the express written permission of those included within the screen capture. 

SESSION RECORDINGS (1.5)

Attendees
Virtual event session recordings will be distributed upon conclusion of a virtual event to all paid registrants. Registrants cannot earn SDMS CME credit for reviewing a recording; SDMS CME credit can only be earned at the time the session is being live streamed.

Copyright
Virtual event recordings are copyrighted by the SDMS and registrants are prohibited from sharing and utilizing the recorded content received from any SDMS virtual event.
