The SDMS Announces 2015 Award and Scholarship Recipients

The Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) is proud to announce its 2015 award and competition winners. Winners were honored on Oct. 2, 2015, at the SDMS and SDMS Foundation Awards Dinner during the 2015 SDMS Annual Conference in Dallas, Texas.

SDMS Distinguished Educator Award - The SDMS Distinguished Educator Award is presented to an exceptional educator in the field of diagnostic medical sonography.

Joan P. Baker Pioneer Award - The Joan P. Baker Pioneer Award honors a sonographer who has made a unique and outstanding contribution to the sonography profession. This award is only given to recognize an SDMS member whose innovation have taken sonography in a new direction.

Stephen McLaughlin Memorial Lectureship - The Stephen McLaughlin Memorial Lectureship was created as a tribute to past SDMS President Stephen McLaughlin for his service to the SDMS and to promote sonographer professionalism within the healthcare community. The lecture is presented each year at the Annual Conference in his honor.

Because of Dr. Sample’s dedication to teaching and research, this award is given to outstanding students in diagnostic medical sonography.
