Plano, Texas – The Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) is pleased to announce that the updated SDMS Sonographer and Sonography Educator Salary & Benefits Reports and SDMS Compensation Calculator are now available.
Updated with 2018 data, the reports provide in-depth salary and benefits data for the profession including compensation for sonographers by credential, bonuses and salary increases, benefits provided, hours worked per week, and the average number of scans performed in a typical workday.
The SDMS Compensation Calculator allows SDMS members to generate a customized compensation report based on various variables including position, education level, years of experience, credentials, and other demographic information.

Three in four (77%) sonography educators hold an RDMS certification, most commonly in abdominal (72%) and/or OB/GYN (67%). Significant proportions hold RVT and/or RDCS credentials (51% and 30%, respectively).
The SDMS Sonographer and Sonography Educator Salary & Benefits Reports are available free of charge to SDMS members as part of their member benefits. Non-members may purchase access to the reports in the SDMS online store. Access to the SDMS Compensation Calculator is an exclusive SDMS member benefit and is not available for purchase.
