Mary Rodriguez, CAE
Chief Executive Officer, SDMS
Mary serves as the CEO of the SDMS and holds the position of ex-officio Officer and Director on the SDMS Board of Directors. Joining the SDMS staff in 1999, she has held various staff positions within the association, accumulating over 20 years of healthcare industry association management experience, with a decade dedicated to executive leadership. Her tenure at the SDMS involved pivotal roles in formulating and implementing Society policies, overseeing daily organizational operations, ensuring seamless functioning of Society programs, and effectively managing staff, resulting in optimized productivity and successful program outcomes.
Mary has skillfully cultivated and managed strong relationships with external organizations, fostering strategic partnerships, collaborations, and knowledge-sharing that significantly increased industry presence and expanded networks. Her expertise in navigating relationships with accreditation bodies, certification entities, legislative and regulatory entities, and industry partners has resulted in numerous successes and advancements for the SDMS, SDMS Foundation, and the sonography field.
Throughout her career, Mary has had the privilege of working closely with past and current Boards of Directors, providing her with valuable insights and diverse experiences in strategic planning and organizational leadership. “I believe that together, our collaborative mindset, collective drive for results, and shared passion for the sonography profession will enable us to make a positive and transformative impact on the SDMS and SDMS Foundation,” said Mary.
Mary earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Western Governors University, is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Management and Leadership and holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
