External CME Reviewer
External CME Reviewers evaluate SDMS and SDMS CME Providers’ diagnostic medical sonography-related educational content to ensure it is current, accurate, relevant, and aligned with clinical practice, patient care, sonography education, and practice management.
Reviewers should have:
- An active interest in reviewing diagnostic medical sonography-related content;
- At least one year of experience working in the diagnostic medical sonography profession;
- Appropriate specialty-specific certification, expertise, training, and experience to review diagnostic medical sonography-related content;
- A strong command of the English language, including grammar and syntax; and
- Be an SDMS member throughout their term.
Ideal candidates are experienced sonography professionals with a strong commitment to educational quality, attention to detail, and a willingness to contribute time and expertise to uphold professional standards in continuing medical education.
JDMS Peer Reviewer
JDMS Peer Reviewers serve in collaboration with the JDMS Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editors by providing objective, constructive, and timely evaluations of manuscripts submitted to the JDMS.
Reviewers should have:
- An active interest in advancing scholarship in the field of diagnostic medical sonography;
- A strong command of the English language, including grammar and syntax;
- Experience in reviewing or authoring manuscripts for publication; and
- Commitment to upholding academic integrity and ethical publishing practices.
Ideal candidates should also possess experience in reviewing or authoring articles for publication and maintain a network of colleagues engaged in sonography research and practice.
JDMS CME Test Reviewer
JDMS CME Test Reviewers evaluate and edit learning objectives and continuing medical education (CME) test questions and answers created for Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JDMS) manuscripts.
Reviewers should have:
- Experience with reviewing, editing, and/or creating learning objectives and test questions/answers, related to diagnostic medical sonography;
- At least two years of experience working in the diagnostic medical sonography profession;
- A strong command of the English language, including grammar and syntax; and
- Be an SDMS member throughout their term.
Ideal candidates will also have experience in diagnostic medical sonography education and in developing academic content or assessments for sonography students or learners.
Call for Proposals to Speak
Speaking at an SDMS event is a great opportunity to share your expertise with the sonography community.
The SDMS is seeking proposals to speak for the following events:
- SDMS Annual Conference (in-person)
- Stephen McLaughlin Memorial Lectureship
- SDMS Virtual Events
Each proposal is carefully reviewed and will be considered by the SDMS Events Management Committee (EMC). Selected proposal(s) will be notified 90 days after the listed submission review deadline. Ideal candidates for this micro-volunteer opportunity should have experience presenting, along with a passion for raising awareness and sharing expertise within the sonography profession.
Subject Matter Experts
Subject Matter Experts are volunteers who lend their expertise to fulfill time-sensitive activities or projects.
The required expertise varies depending on the strategic or educational nature of the project, and qualifications are specified when an activity or project becomes available.
