SDMS remains unwavering in its commitment to advancing the profession of diagnostic medical sonography and supporting sonographers at every stage of their careers. In 2025, SDMS navigated a dynamic healthcare landscape with strength, adaptability, and a shared dedication to excellence in patient care.

The 2025 SDMS Annual Report reflects a year of meaningful progress and momentum. From expanded education offerings and strengthened advocacy efforts to innovative programs, volunteer engagement, and enhanced member resources, SDMS is evolving to meet the needs of today’s sonographers while preparing for tomorrow’s challenges.

Each strategic priority reflects our dedication to ensuring that sonographers are supported at every stage of their careers and that the profession continues to thrive in an evolving healthcare landscape.

SDMS EVENTS
SDMS CME Weekend 2025
Held in the spring, the SDMS CME Weekend is a travel-free, online-only learning experience that enables sonographers, sonography students, and physicians from around the world to network and learn. In addition to earning SDMS CME credits, the event provides attendees with real-world case studies that explore new techniques, diagnostic challenges, and practical applications to enhance everyday clinical practice.

2025 SDMS Annual Conference
The SDMS Annual Conference is designed for sonographers, sonography students, and physicians who use sonography in their practice setting. Held in the fall, the SDMS Annual Conference is designed to foster connections and learning and includes multiple opportunities to network and visit the exhibit hall. Attendees will earn SDMS CME credits while learning about new sonographic techniques, diagnostic accuracy, enhancements of sonographic instrumentation, and practice management strategies.
