SDMS members are invited to submit their applications for the SDMS Scientific Presentation Competition, Sonographer and Student Poster Competitions, and the W. Frederick Sample Student Excellence Award.

SDMS Scientific Presentation Competition | Sonographers and sonography students
This competition evaluates
sonographers’ original clinical or educational research, literature reviews,
case studies, best practices, or other areas related to diagnostic medical
sonography.
Authors of winning presentations are encouraged to submit their work for publication in the Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JDMS). Alternatively, they may also submit a proposal for an upcoming SDMS Annual Conference or virtual event. Learn More
Sonographer and Student Poster Competitions | Sonographers and sonography students
Submitted posters should summarize findings in original research, a literature review, or a case study. Entries must be submitted electronically and are evaluated based on appearance, content, and originality. Entries must not have been previously exhibited or presented at other conferences or had their findings published within the field, regardless of the publication medium. Learn More
W. Frederick Sample Student Excellence Award | Sonography students only
The W. Frederick Sample Student Excellence Award recognizes outstanding writing in the field of diagnostic medical sonography. Entries of either original research or a literature review may be submitted if they have not previously been published electronically or in print.
